Endless Summer
Solo exhibition held in June 2012 at
STAACKS GALLERY, 144 Banks Rd West
Kirby, Wirral, England
This
body of work was inspired by the landscapes around the Dee River Estuary on the
Wirral Peninsular, in North West England. With its low horizons and big
skies, strong tidal variations and dramatic weather, the sensorial aspects
provided ever changing triggers and inspiration

These paintings below were a private commission, inspired by
the Willows in Birkenhead
Park this autumn. I was
interested in the strong vertical lines of the Willow presented in a panoramic format.
Birkenhead Park was designed by Thomas Paxton in1848 -1851 and was the first public
park of its kind in the world. Central Park in New York was fashioned on this design.
Since I have lived in England,
emigrating here in 1995, Birkenhead
Park was my local and
first spacious refuge.
I had no car, just a baby, a pram and some bread for the ducks.

Since then, I have exhibited in the Park’s Visitor Centre Art Gallery several times over the years,
including in a De- Junk, Re-Junk group exhibition using recycled materials in
July 2012. Selected work from this show is currently exhibited in the World Museum
in Liverpool. (Oct 2012 – Jan 2013)
